no answers--`
((: decided to change my blogskin cos i have a sudden urge for something that's black..
Yesterday night was weird, i can say. It has been such a long time since i thought so much and so deeply about things and it really confused me alot alot. i kinda like talked to michelle on the phone for ard 1 hour plus till like 2 am and yeah, felt much clearer and better [thanks dear (:] but my questions and doubts have not been answered yet. She thinks that there may not be answers to them, cos it's too complicated for us to comprehend. Frankly speaking, those questions and doubts have been troubling me for quite some time. i have always tried not to think about them. yes, it's a form of denial but it's the fact that they are so confusing and they are questions that we will never seem to be able to answer. Like as quoted from lester's blog -- 'Yet, love, in all its complexities, do we really comprehend?' , Do we really comprehend? Will we ever comprehend? Why is it that it seems so hard to answer? Even adults have no answer to that. As me and mich discussed yesterday night, some adults claim that they love each other but are they happy together? or are they still together because of the fact that they are married to each other and marriage seems like a sort of responsibility that they, as responsible adults, have to take? We will never know. The society now is making everything so complex. unlike in the past when everyone was so simple.
Are u really in love? Love is such a great word and it is a responsibility. People now use it so freely, one moment they tell you, "oh im so in love with you. i love you so much." but the next moment, u see them breaking up. Is that really love? Are you willing to die and sacrifice for this person when u say u love him/her? Are you willing to respect him/her and treat him/her as a special individual and give him/her emotional support and let him/her know that you will always be there for them? Wrong usage of words can lead to misunderstandings and unfortunately, there seem to be so many cases of misunderstandings and misconceptions now. and eventually one party will be depressed and sad cos it dusnt turn out the way they thought it would be.
There are so many things that i don't understand. You may say that i think too much, but isnt it true? we wont seem to be able to answer why we love this particular person so much. maybe it just does not have an answer. Sometimes you wonder whether your love is returned. But is it important to know the answer? I dont't have any ans to this. To you, you may feel that it is very important to know however to some other people, they are contented without knowing the ans.Humans are such complex and weird creatures. Yet maybe it's because of our complex mind that gives us the ability to love. It is a wonderful thing but love has hurt us time and time again. but why do we still continue loving? is it inevitable?
Maybe...it's just the way humans are programmed. We just cant escape from love huh? Can we?
Carter Heyward:
Love, like truth and beauty, is concrete. Love is not fundamentally a sweet feeling; not, at heart, a matter of sentiment, attachment, or being "drawn toward." Love is active, effective, a matter of making reciprocal and mutually beneficial relation with one's friends and enemies. Love creates righteousness, or justice, here on earth. To make love is to make justice. As advocates and activists for justice know, loving involves struggle, resistance, risk. People working today on behalf of women, blacks, lesbians and gay men, the aging, the poor in this country and elsewhere know that making justice is not a warm, fuzzy experience. I think also that sexual lovers and good friends know that the most compelling relationships demand hard work, patience, and a willingness to endure tensions and anxiety in creating mutually empowering bonds. For this reason loving involves commitment. We are not automatic lovers of self, others, world, or God. Love does not just happen. We are not love machines, puppets on the strings of a deity called "love." Love is a choice -- not simply, or necessarily, a rational choice, but rather a willingness to be present to others without pretense or guile. Love is a conversion to humanity -- a willingness to participate with others in the healing of a broken world and broken lives. Love is the choice to experience life as a member of the human family, a partner in the dance of life, rather than as an alien in the world or as a deity above the world, aloof and apart from human flesh.
